National Indigenous Day

Celebrate National Indigenous Day at Killbear!

Join Christine King, from our neighbouring Wasauksing First Nation community, for a morning of hand drumming, traditional Anishinabek water and strawberry (or ode'imin) ceremonies and a dance to the rhythm of Mother Earth’s heartbeat.

The water ceremony honours our connection to Creation and the blood of our original Mother Earth. We will sing a song and share sweet water. The strawberry ceremony honours the first sign of summer and the first berry that comes from the earth. We will share in strawberries and offer a strawberry to Mother Earth.

Meet at the Day Use Beach at 10 am.
