To Enter: Mail submissions to Killbear Provincial Park, 35 Killbear Park Rd., Nobel, ON P0G 1G0 by December 31, 2018. Photographer agreement and model release forms are available online, in the park tabloid, or in the Visitor Centre.
The photo contest runs from January 1 to December 31 of each year. Entries must be received by the contest closing date of December 31 of each. Neither the park, Ontario Parks, MNRF or any sponsors or its agencies of this contest are responsible for entries that are lost, late, delayed, misdirected, unintelligible, illegible, incomplete, postage due, stolen, returned, separated, damaged, or undeliverable entries or mail. Proof of mailing is not proof of delivery.
There is no limit to the number of entries per person. Each submission must include a separate entry form (or a reproduction of facsimile). Numerous entries do not need to be mailed in separate envelopes.
All contest entries must include a completed photographer agreement release.
Any photos containing identifiable people must also be accompanied by a model release form. Model releases are the responsibility of the entrant and must be available in the event the photo is a winner.
Acceptable entries must be in colour, or black and white unmounted prints or mounted transparencies/slides. Digital entries must be submitted on a minimum 5” X 7” print using photo-quality paper. The original file resolution must be a minimum of 7.2 megapixels. The digital prints should match the quality and character of the original digital capture. Compositional changes to digital files are not acceptable and will be disqualified; tonal or colour cast corrections are acceptable. Include for all entries, original material, original negatives and/or digital capture files. They must be available for reproduction purposes. For all entries, original material, including original negative and/or capture file must be available for reproduction purposes. All entries and contest materials received become the property of the contest organizers and will not be returned.
To be considered in the contest, all submissions must be original, unpublished photographs taken of or in an Ontario provincial park.
By signing the Killbear Provincial Park photo contest entry form, the contestant grants the provincial park, Ontario Parks and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, unrestricted rights for a minimum of two years to use the photograph(s) for any purpose. This includes, but is not limited to, print or electronic publishing, exhibits, films, video, web, social media campaigns, news releases, merchandise and any related communication media for promotional purposes without further compensation. Ontario Parks is not obligated to use photographer's name as a credit along with the photograph. The photographer must own all rights to any photographs entered in this contest. It is the responsibility of the contestant to ensure that publication of the photographs raises no legal claims. Accordingly, you hereby agree to compensate the sponsors fully regarding any claims arising out of the use of your photograph(s). Photograph(s) previously published in full or in part in other publications, social media channels, contests etc, will be disqualified. Limit of one (1) prize per person or household.
Ontario Parks and the MNRF may post the winners names and as many of the winning photographs as space permits in park tabloids and other publications, electronic, print or otherwise.
Prior to receiving a prize, the winners will be required to sign an agreement declaring that a) he or she does not sell photographs or charge a fee for taking pictures; b) the photography submitted is his or her original work; c) the photography was taken at the location specified on the entry form, d) the photography was not edited in anyway.
All prizes must be accepted as awarded, and are not convertible to cash.
The Ontario Parks photo contest is open to any amateur photographer who visits an Ontario provincial park, except employees of Ontario Parks’, Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, sponsors and/or their immediate family members.
Only the photographer has the right to submit a photograph, and the photographer must sign each entry form and a photographer agreement release. Prizes will be awarded to the photographers.
A qualified panel of sponsor’s judges will judge eligible entries. All decisions of the contest judges are final.
By signing the entry form, the participant consents to the entry of his or her submission and agrees to these official rules and regulations and the decisions of the judges, which are final and binding in all matters to this contest.
